Your World
Georgia Douglas Johnson
Your world is as big as you make it
I know, for I used to abide
in the narrowest nest in a corner,
my wings pressing close to my side.
But I sighted the distant horizon
where the skyline encircles the sea
and I throbbed with a burning desire
to travel this immensity.
I battered the cordons around me
and cradled my wings on the breeze
then soared to the uttermost reaches
with rapture, with power, with ease.
Pray: Have Thine Own Way
Adelaide A. Pollard 1880
Have Thine own way Lord!
Have Thine own way!
You are the potter
I am the clay.
Mold me and make me
after Thy will
while I am waiting
yielded and still.
Have Thine own way Lord!
Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary
help me I pray!
Power all power
surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me
Savior divine!
Have Thine own way Lord!
Have Thine own way!
